We are incredibly excited about the upcoming Wolverine x Samantha Pleet collab - so excited that we’re having a launch party for it on Saturday! Wolverine and Samantha have gotten together to create a line of classic, durable, and gorgeous boots. But we figured we’d give y’all some background info on everyone involved so you can really appreciate the story behind these babies. They are SWEET.

Bonny Boot

Wolverine’s “1000 Mile Boot” was first produced in 1914, earning its nickname because of its crazy durablity. (You could probably walk 2,000 miles in them, just sayin.) The classic American work boot, they have been around forever, and for good reason. Wolverine makes their modern 1000 Mile Boot with the same care and quality as they did in 1914, and to the same specifications. Classic, timeless, durable, and beautiful - you couldn’t ask anything more of a boot.

Samantha Pleet is a designer based in Brooklyn whose dreamy and modern line of womenswear showed at NYFW last night. (Which makes it all the more impressive that she’s helping put together this event with us!) Her design process is all about pulling inspiration from history and combining it with the modern - Joan of Arc, Venetian painting, and Indiana Jones were all mentioned as influences for this collection in this awesome little video Wolverine put out.

So it seems like a no brainer that an old American classic like Wolverine would get together with Samantha Pleet, a new American classic, to create a perfect lovechild of past and future. We can’t wait to share these guys with everyone and to celebrate the launch of this line on Saturday at our Greenpoint store and studio.
